The Project

Almost ninety years of history, indeed of stories. All on two wheels but with one head, very hard: the one that pushes you to go, anyway and always, defying the weather and the asphalt of the roads that from Nodica take you on as long as there is breath.

But if roads sooner or later end up bringing you home, time, the one here did not make it to stop a dream that first became an idea that then turned into reality and finally developed into a project that begins with Bike and ends with Village.

It was 1933 when Orlando Ciucci turned the dream of those who, like him, have been eating bread and bicycles every day for as long as he can remember into an idea, that of a store that is not just a place where bicycles are sold and fixed. His vision is forward-looking, it is that of a real hub, in the sense of a place where people meet and exchange chats, tricks and secrets, ideas and challenges-in short, everything that normally comes up when people are driven by the same passion, as old and powerful as riding a bicycle.

Orlando’s dream

Orlando’s is an idea that is realized and endures, in defiance of all the events and happenings that the 20th century has thrown at us, becoming a reality, that of a store and workshop-open, in fact, to people, to the world. And that idea, which became a business, is then handed over in 2015 to Luca Andreuccetti, who takes it over and fuels it with his very serious passion for the all-round bicycle world as we know it today, also made of famous brands and technology to support the cyclist. Thus was born Bike Village, in Nodica.

Perhaps at that time Luca did not know it yet, but today the course of events speaks for itself, and everything is explained: by taking over that idea Luca realizes Orlando’s dream by taking it even further, giving birth to a project, one of those big ones, which move mountains but above all the souls of people who, like Luca, believe in it without doubting it for a minute in his life.

And when projects are born well they become contagious, eventually becoming more of the same. So Luca meets Pietro Pestarini, a young globetrotting entrepreneur with fervent and ambitious ideas, and from here another dream is born, broader, richer, fresher. Not without having imagined that in the name Bike Village in fact announces and promises much more than a bike store and workshop. As if Orlando’s intuition had continued to work underneath, never subsiding. In fact. So Bike Village opens its new hub in the Tabaccaia building on SP30 just outside San Giuliano Terme, on that road that everyone knows as the Pisan Lungomonte, with a major innovation: to place side by side with the services of selling bicycles, accessories and technical clothing, and the workshop, the Bikers Bistrot, dedicated to the food most in tune with those who grind miles on the road: the hamburger.

But that’s not all, Bike Village presents itself as a leisure provider, a provider of free time-space, dedicating itself to making available to its audience all possible and imaginable services designed for those who ride bikes period, no matter if for pleasure or for sport, if by the sound of their legs or their rechargeable battery.
